Our school holidays art workshops were listed in The Daily Telegraph as being one of the 10 best activities for children to participate in during the holidays!
We were proud to be listed with The Australian Museum, the NSW Art Gallery and Sydney Tower.

Our innovative school holiday art programs are written by our experienced teachers who are specialists in art education for children.

NSW Summer School Holidays Art Classes Program

We are running 3 hour and short 1½ hour ART workshops to keep your children busy in the holidays

Full Day – 9.30am-3pm   Bring morning tea, lunch and a drink.

3 hours  9.30am-12.30pm, 12.30-3.30pm or 1.30pm-4.30pm Bring a snack and a drink.
90 mins –  10.30-12 noon

Children can attend 2 workshops on a day, they just need to bring lunch and morning tea to stay all day.

Payment

All art workshops MUST be prepaid by EFT, Paypal, cheque or cash to reserve your child’s place. We accept the creative kids voucher for 2 or more workshop bookings,with a total of 6 hours or more. Email the voucher number when booking, with your child’s name and birthdate. Then select bank transfer as payment.

PLEASE NOTE that if a workshop is full, our website will not let you progress to payment.

Details for the Summer School Holidays Art Workshops:

Christmas Penguin painting

Ages 5-14 – Wednesday 18th December – 10.30-12pm 

In this 90 minutes workshop the young artists will have fun painting a Christmas themed penguin canvas . Painting techniques like blending, dry brushing and dabbing will be explored. They can choose to add a touch glitter at the end to enhance their creations.

Tropical Paradise: drawing and painting

Ages 7-14 – Wednesday 18th December– 9.30am-3.30pm – Bring morning tea, lunch and a drink

The young artists will spend 3 hours drawing and painting exotic flowers, tropical sunsets and a hidden paradise.

Manga and Anime drawing

Ages 7-14 – Wednesday 18th  December– 12.30am-3.30pm – Bring afternoon tea and a drink 

This 3 hour workshop introduces the young artists to the fun packed world of Manga and Anime! They will learn the entertaining art of drawing in the unique Manga style – the actions, the eyes and of course the amazing hair and outfits. They will start with the basic principles of drawing Manga eyes, hair and bodies, and will then progress through to creating a scene if time permits. The drawings will be rendered in ink and colour.

Sunflower painting inspired by Vincent van Gogh

Ages 5-14 years – Thursday 19th December – 10.30pm-12pm 

Give a van Gogh for Christmas! The young artists will paint a bouquet of sunflowers in a vase, inspired by the great 19th century Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh, which would be the perfect Christmas gift. Van Gogh’s sunflowers were intended to be a symbol of friendship and a celebration of the beauty and vitality of nature. The sunflower pictures were among the first paintings Van Gogh produced in Arles that show his signature expressive style. The young artists will learn about contrasting and harmonious colours in this workshop.

 

Cartoon Animal drawing

Ages 7-14 – Thursday 19th December – 12.30am-3.30pm- Bring afternoon tea and a drink

The young artists will learn how to draw animals in a cartoon style similar to the style of Disney. They will focus on how to draw the bodies and the facial expressions of these animals. The workshop will include inking and colouring

Realistic Animals painting

Ages 10-16– Thursday 19th December – 9.30am-12.30pm Bring morning tea and a drink

In this 3 hour workshop guided by emerging artist Dilara Niriella, the young artists will learn how to paint animals realistically to capture their feathers, fur and scales. They will complete a canvas painting of their chosen animal. They can bring in a photocopy of their favourite animal or paint from our supplied images.

Cool Christmas cards

Ages 7-14 – Thursday 19th December – 1.30am-4.30pm – Bring afternoon tea and a drink

In this 3 hour workshop the young artists will create 3 Christmas card designs of their choice! Using mixed media they will enjoy designing personalised cards that focus on the holiday season.

 

Glitter Christmas painting

Ages 5-14 – Friday 20th December – 10.30-12pm

In this workshop the young artists will enjoy painting their favourite Christmas characters like Santa, Rudolph, elves and snowmen or paint a meaningful Christmas story scene on a 30 x 40cm canvas. Artistic techniques like sponging and blending will be explored in this workshop. They can decorate with a sprinkle of glitter to finish it off.

Cartoon Christmas card drawing

Ages 6-13 – Friday 20th December– 12.30am-3.30pm Bring afternoon tea and a drink

The young artists will have a great 3 hours designing Christmas cards with their very own cartoon Christmas characters.

Toy Story drawing and painting

Ages 9-15 – Friday 20th December– 9.30am-12.30pm – Bring a snack and a drink

The young artists will work through the whole process of creating a painting, from thumbnail sketches all the way through to the final product. They will draw and paint their favourite characters from Toy Story.

Recreating famous paintings

Ages 10-16 – Friday 20th December– 1.30am-4.30pm – Bring a snack and a drink

Your young artist will choose their favourite  painting to recreate on a canvas. While completing their painting, they will learn painting techniques the masters like Vincent van Gogh, Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso or Roy Lichtenstein used. They will need to bring a photocopy of their favourite painting to recreate or can choose from images we provide.

 

Rumble in the Jungle: drawing and painting

Ages 7-13 – Monday 23rd December– 9.30am-3pm Bring morning tea, lunch and a drink

Take a journey through the Congo meeting our animal friends as well as exotic flowers and waterfalls. On this fun filled day the young artists will be creating a colourful and dramatic canvas as well as a number of other mixed media artworks !

Christmas penguin painting

Ages 5-13 – Monday 23rd December– 10.30am-12pm

“Fun in the Sun” beach painting

Ages 5-13 – Monday 13th January – 10.30-12pm

This is a fun workshop where your young artist will be guided step by step by their teacher to paint a beach scene portrait of themselves with family or friends splashing and playing in the sea. Painting techniques like detailing, dabbing, sponging and splattering will be taught. They will also learn how to mix sand and skin colours. Their beach scene will be painted on a 30 x 40 cm canvas.

Penguin Painting

Ages 7-14 – Monday 13th January – 12.30-3.30pm Bring a snack and drink

With Penguin Awareness Day coming up, the young artists will learn how to draw different species of penguins in a realistic manner while experimenting with a range of art mediums. Their final piece will be a canvas painting of Mumble, the protagonist of the popular film, ‘Happy Feet’ dancing in the snow!

Fabulous Flowers Painting

5-13 years – Tuesday 14th January – 10.30-12pm 

The young artists will paint a beautiful contemporary canvas depicting vibrant gerbera flowers painted in warm colours on a contrasting cool coloured background. They will learn how to do interesting painting techniques like dabbing and dotting. Glitter can be added at the end to give their artwork some sparkle.

Digital Dragons : Digital art

8-14 years – Tuesday 14th January – 9.30-12.30pm – Bring morning tea and a drink

An open level workshop where the young artists will complete a digital illustration of a dragon. Students will learn how to apply drawing techniques digitally.
Students need to bring their own tablet and stylus with the Autodesk Sketchbook app downloaded. https://sketchbook.com

Mythical Creatures: drawing and painting

Ages 7-14 years – Tuesday 14th January – 9.30am-3pm

This will be a fun filled day spent exploring the world of dragons, dungeons and castles as well as exotic mermaids and other mythical creatures. A beautiful canvas will be created as well as other individual drawn pieces of art using a range of mixed media.

Exploding Volcano painting

Ages 6-14 – Wednesday 15th January– 10.30am-12pm

Painting techniques like dripping, splattering, sponging and dabbing will be explored, while the young artists create an exploding volcano painting on canvas. Lots of fun to be had in this workshop!

 

Jurassic Adventure: Drawing and Painting

Ages 7-14 – Wednesday 15th January– 9.30am-3pm Bring a snack, lunch and drink

Let’s journey into the Jurassic era for a full day creative workshop producing an amazing canvas featuring huge Tyrannosaurus Rex, browsing Brontosaurus munching on leaves, sneaky, speedy Velaptor Raptors and many more!
The young artists will be creating a painting on canvas as well as a variety of other mixed media artworks in this full day workshop.

 

Horses of Myth: Digital Art

Ages 8-15 – Wednesday 15th January– 9.30am-12.30pm Bring a snack and drink

An open level workshop where students will complete a digital illustration of a horse from mythology (e.g. Pegasus, unicorns, hippocampi). The young artists will learn how to apply drawing techniques digitally.

Mickey and Minnie Mouse painting

Ages 5-13 – Thursday 16th January– 10.30am-12pm 

The arrival of 2020 marks the year of the rat following the Chinese zodiac cycle. To celebrate the arrival of the new year, the young artists will be composing their very own canvas painting of Mickey and Minnie Mouse with dazzling fireworks in the background!

Unicorn Painting

Ages 5-13 – Thursday 16th January– 1pm-2.30pm

Magic and glitter awaits in this workshop where the young artists will be customising and painting their very own unicorn on canvas! Students will engage in experimental painting techniques and learn how to effectively integrate analogous and complementary colours in their artwork.

Cuddly Cats and Dogs : Drawing and painting

Ages 6-13 – Friday 17th January– 9.30am-12.30pm

This will be 3 hours full of fun for the young artists creating a wonderful canvas of their favourite feline or playful pooch.

Journey to the Moon :drawing and painting

Ages 7-13 – Friday 17th January– 1.30pm-4.30pm

Join us on an intergalactic journey through space discovering planets, rockets and aliens in this 3 hour workshop. The young artists will enjoy creating their own canvas space painting.

Children who love to paint or draw and have already been to these workshops previously are welcome to attend again.  A different program of activities guided by our teachers will be given to these children on the workshop day.
