WINTER HOLIDAY WORKSHOPS: COVID ANNOUNCEMENT

PLEASE NOTE: IN RESPONSE TO THE LATEST GOVERNMENT MANDATED LOCKDOWN IN GREATER SYDNEY DUE TO COVID-19, WE MUST POSTPONE THE WINTER SCHOOL HOLIDAYS WORKSHOPS TO THE SPRING SCHOOL HOLIDAYS.

The new dates are:  Monday 20th September to Friday 24th September. An email will be sent to all of you who booked shortly.

REFUNDS/CANCELLATIONS: 

  • No refunds can be given for the workshops. They have not been cancelled but pushed forward to the following Holiday break.
  • If you cannot attend the workshops, please let us know 1-2 weeks prior to their commencement, and we will make allowances for this.
  • Unfortunately, no refunds can be given on Creative Kids Vouchers.

We are sorry for any disappointment this brings, and we hope to see you all in September!

NSW Winter School Holidays Art Classes Program

POSTPONED TO the NSW SPRING School Holidays

We are running  2 hour and short 1½ hour ART workshops to keep your children busy in the holidays – No full day workshops will be held during the COVID pandemic.

2 hours  10.30-12.30pm , 10 – 12pm   or 1 – 3pm
90 mins –  10.30-12 noon, 10- 11.30am or 1.30-3pm

Children can attend 2 workshops on a day, they just need to bring lunch and morning tea to stay. An extra $20 will be charged for supervision during lunch.

Payment

All art workshops MUST BE PREPAID by EFT, Paypal, cheque or cash in advance to reserve your child’s place. We accept the creative kids voucher for 2 or more workshop bookings. Email the voucher number when booking, with your child’s name and birthdate. Then select bank transfer as payment.

No credit or refunds will be given if you cancel on the day of the workshop or do not show up. At least 2 days notice is needed for a cancellation.

PLEASE NOTE that if a workshop is full, our website will not let you progress to payment.

Jim Dine inspired Heart: Mixed Media Painting

FULLY BOOKED NOW

Ages 5-14– Monday 28th June now on 20th September – 10.30am-12 noon

The young artists will observe and briefly discuss the unique Heart paintings by American Pop artist Jim Dine. Then they will create their own heart painting using warm and cool acrylic colours on a 30 x 40cm canvas. Pastel details and gold paint will be added to complete their multi layered work.

Phoenix the fire bird: Painting

FULLY BOOKED NOW

Ages 7-15– Monday 28th June now on 20th September– 1-3pm

The young artists will learn about the mythological bird that sets fire to itself every 500 years. The symbolic meaning of the Phoenix is about renewal. It is about overcoming darkness and rising to the challenge to become powerful and succeed. They will also experiment with warm colours and sponging techniques to create a beautiful fire bird canvas.

    

Koala Bear: Mixed Media Painting

Ages 5-14 years – Tuesday 29th June now on 21st September 10.30am – 12 noon

The young artists will enjoy being guided step by step to paint on a canvas a portrait of a cute and cuddly Koala Bear. Painting techniques like sponging, layering and dabbing will be explored on their canvas painting.

Tropical Paradise: Painting

FULLY BOOKED NOW

Ages 7-14 – Tuesday 29th June now on 21st September 1 – 3pm

The young artists will spend 2 hours escaping the winter chill by painting a beautiful tropical sunset and hidden paradise on a 30 x 40cm canvas. They will lean how to blend paint to create the sunset and paint fine details for the silhouetted island.

  

Fabulous Flowers: Painting

FULLY BOOKED NOW

Ages 5-14 – Wednesday 30th June now on the 22nd September 10.30 – 12 noon

The young artists will paint a beautiful contemporary canvas depicting vibrant gerbera flowers painted in warm colours on a contrasting cool coloured background. They will learn how to do interesting painting techniques like dabbing and dotting. Glitter can be added at the end to give their artwork some sparkle.

Picasso Owl: Mixed media Painting

Ages 7-14 – Wednesday 30th June now on 22nd September 1-2.30pm

The famous Spanish artist Pablo Picasso once found a little owl with a broken foot which he took home with him. He cured the owl and kept it in a cage in the kitchen of his apartment in Paris. The owl was the inspiration for several paintings that Picasso created. In this workshop the young artists will enjoy painting an owl using a monochromatic earth coloured paint scheme and they will hide their name in the feathers just like Picasso did in one of his owl works.

 

Aurora Borealis : Painting

Ages 5 + Thursday 1st July now on 23rd September – 10.30am-12 noon

The young artists will paint a silhouetted landscape of a wintery sky on a 30 x 40 cm canvas.

Everything Kawaii! : Drawing

Ages 8 +  Thursday 1st July now on 24th September – 1.30 – 3 pm 

The young artists will learn how to draw animals in the iconic Japanese cute style.

Fox in the Snow: Painting

Ages 5 + Friday 2nd July  now on 24th September – 10.30am – 12pm 

The young artists will enjoy painting a cute fox portrait surrounded by snowfall.

 

Polar Animals: Drawing

Ages 8 + Friday 2nd July now on 24th September – 1.30 pm- 3pm 

The young artists will draw their favourite arctic animals such as wolves, polar bears, penguins, seals and more! They will then refine their drawings with Copic markers.

Manga and Anime: Drawing

MANGA AND ANIME DRAWING NOW FULLY BOOKED  

Dates now on 20th, 22nd or 23rd September

Manga and Anime 1: Ages 7-14  FULLY BOOKED 

The young artists will learn the steps to draw the unique face, head, and hair of Anime characters! The students will also learn how to draw the head and face with different expressions, at multiple angles. 

Manga and Anime 2: Ages 9 -14 FULLY BOOKED 

The young artists will learn how to draw the anatomy of Anime characters, and how to use shapes to construct the characters in multiple poses! They will also draw and style them in different clothes, keeping in mind how they fold on the body. 

           

Children who love to paint or draw and have already been to these workshops previously are welcome to attend again.  A different program of activities guided by our teachers will be given to these children on the workshop day.

Young Artists is found in the Hills district of Sydney. Our professional light filled studio space is located at Unit 43, 9 Hoyle Avenue, Castle Hill NSW 2154.
